Transalta Rainforest

One of two contrasting African ecosystems, the TransAlta Rainforest merges plants, animals and information. You will be immersed in the steamy atmosphere of the rainforest: its sights, sounds, smells and sweltering climate.

Occupying 2,900 square metres (31,000 square feet) the TransAlta Rainforest features a myriad of African rainforest flora and is home to many African animal species.

Destination Africa - Rainforest Tour

Thousands of interconnections between plants and animals all work together to make up a rainforest.
Enjoy a guided tour through the TransAlta Rainforest, where you might see fruit bats, dwarf crocodiles, gorillas, various bird species, a plethora of plant species and much more! This tour takes place indoors.
