On September 2, 2008 the ENMAX Conservatory was closed to the public to allow for a much needed renovation. Over 40 years old, the conservatory was badly in need of repairs. ENMAX Corporation has generously partnered with the Calgary Zoo to create a renewed facility that will not only be beautiful, but also environmentally responsible. The Calgary Zoo is striving to achieve LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Gold certification. If successful, the ENMAX Conservatory will be the first facility of this kind to achieve this level of certification which means that the building exemplifies sustainable design and construction. The new ENMAX Conservatory is now open to the public!
